DALIAN – The market reports show that July is the off-season for sunflower seed sales in China. Because of the hot weather, people do not like to eat sunflower seeds.
China’s main producers and exporters in Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Xinjiang gave feedback that export orders decreased in July. The main export areas are still the Middle East and Egypt. Orders from the Southeast Asian markets were greatly reduced.
During the Summer, there are mainly the domestic wholesale markets and food factories active in buying. Production predicts that prices will not rise until new goods arrive in September. There is still a trend for prices to decline because of the weak demand. Export prices this week are USD 1.240 per ton, FOB Dalian.
