ODESA: Last week, wheat quotes on world markets showed high volatility. At first, they increased rapidly, then fell, and at the end of the week, they recovered again. Immense pressure on prices had political news about the possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. As a result, we could observe a reduction in grain supplies.
Purchasing prices for wheat in Ukraine followed the world prices. However, they were also influenced by hryvnia’s depreciation against the dollar to UAH 28.9/$.
At the beginning of this week, against the background of a 3-4% fall in world prices and a 1% strengthening of hryvnia, wheat prices in ports fell by 4-5 $/t. Purchasing prices in port for milling wheat varied from 9.500 to 9.600 UAH/t or 300-305 $/t. Feed wheat – 8.900-9.100 UAH/t or 280-285 $/t.
