It is unbearable to see this suffering in Ukraine and the powerlessness of our leaders to do the right thing. It was much easier to look away and do business with dictatorships. In talk shows, responsible politicians say that they were wrong. However, they have seen what Russia, Syria, Ukraine, and many other countries brought over the populations for incredible suffering. We have continued to make deals, close our eyes, and sell our values.
It is precisely the same politicians, by the way, who are telling us today that a no-fly zone over Ukraine is out of the question. They are sure that it will trigger the Third World War. They prefer to watch people being killed by a ruthless tyrant. The politicians are guilty of their decisions because they were afraid to do the right thing and not do something wrong even then.
It goes even worse; even a majority of the German population to the immediate stop of Russian gas and oil does not keep them from simply leaving it. Surveys are then only snapshots for these politicians but in no way a basis for decision-making.
The effects of the economy and politics are pointed out like a prayer mill. Our prosperity is in danger, and social unrest threatens. So-called experts explain that no one would be helped if things got worse for us. They feel incredibly clever when they present to the population that they can understand emotionally that an immediate stop of the gas and oil deliveries is demanded. Still, now one must be rational at this point and switch on his mind. So people who say stop the money transfers to Putin are irrational and do not switch on their minds.
We must not forget that, for the most part, it is those who got us into this situation in the first place. The politicians didn’t believe Putin would start a war against Ukraine. And it is precisely them who are already explaining to us again what is right and wrong. No wonder more and more people are losing faith in politics. Not because politicians make mistakes, which err is human, but because they do not take responsibility and continue.
The question becomes louder, who actually bears the responsibility in Germany for this lousy policy, and how can these politicians and responsible people live with the fact that innocent people in Ukraine die for their mistakes and misjudgments, and they still have it nice and warm.
