World sunflower production in 2022/23 will exceed 50 million tons – USDA.

According to the July forecast of USDA analysts, world production of sunflower seeds may increase to 50.3 million tons, compared with 49.2 million tons estimated in June, which, however, is significantly lower than the result in 2021/22 MY (57.3 million tons), reports “APK-Inform”. For the Russian Federation, an upward revision was made – up to 15.5 (14.5; 15.5) million tons.

In addition, the forecast for global oilseed processing was also raised to 46.7 (45.3; 46.5) million tons due to a change in estimates for the EU to 10.3 (9.9; 10) million tons, the Russian Federation to 14.3 (13.5; 14.1) million tons and Argentina to 3.5 (3.4; 3.4) million tons.

Analysts left the forecast for global sunflower exports in 2022/23 MY generally unchanged – at the 3.6 (3.63; 3.9) million tonmillion-ton level.

Oilseed reserves in the new season may decline slightly to 6.9 (7, 4; 8.2). At the same time, the forecast of funds for Ukraine was reduced to 3.4 (4; 4.8) million tons, and for Argentina – to 626 (726; 376) thousand tons, while for the EU, it was increased to 0.8 (0.54; 1) 0.15) million tons and the Russian Federation – to 1.18 (1.13; 0.97) million tons.
