ODESA: According to some market participants, yellow corn prices will show significant movement in October after harvesting. At first, they expect some price decrease, as usual, but not for a long time. Corn will follow the general trend of feed items, and the price is expected to grow. Agrarians can put pressure on prices themselves. According to the USDA August report, Ukraine will have one of the best yields this year. So farmers will have to sell their stocks quickly as they cannot keep big amounts of grains.
This week price showed a slight increase. Purchasing price in main Ukrainian ports is around 245 $/t. Yellow corn old crop is mainly exported by big vessels now. Small lots under 3.000 mats are scarce these days, and small buyers switched to other items.
