ODESA: As of September 23, Ukrainian farmers harvested 480 thousand corn from 105 thousand hectares. This is 2% of the total area of 5.5 million hectares. The average yield for the moment is 4.8 t / ha. Last year, by this date, farmers harvested already twice more enormous volumes.
Despite the forecast of a record corn production in Ukraine in 2021, purchasing prices in Ukrainian ports for the second week in a row continue to be at the level of 240-245 $ / t.
Although buyers are still assuming a wait-and-see attitude, price decrease during the harvesting campaign is hardly expected. The delay with harvesting caused by weather conditions also contributes to tenseness.
