Construction of a new soybean processing plant has begun in the US city of Casselton, North Dakota. This is reported by local media. The total amount of investments attracted to the project is about $400 million. According to preliminary forecasts, soybeans will be supplied to the enterprise from agricultural producers whose agricultural holdings are located within 60 miles from the Oil Extraction Plant.

The oil plant will annually process over 42.5 million bushels of oilseed for further production of oil and meal.

North Dakota is the nation’s leader in soybean production, Senator Kevin Kramer said, and the addition of a new facility to the region will expand the market, benefiting local oilseed farmers.

“Facilities like these come about through the concerted action of state, local and industry leaders working together to demonstrate that North Dakota is a great place to do business, ” Cramer said.

It is noted that the enterprise will be owned by North Dakota Soy Processors, LLC. Commissioning of the oil extraction plant is scheduled for 2024.
