Market players reported that exporters prefer not to give prices this week due to the uncertainties in the exchange rates. It is stated that actual prices cannot be provided because of the current situations since it can not be predicted whether the prices will increase or decrease. Due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, no demand is expected from buyers for a week or two, and the activities will likely start again in the markets after mid-January.
Today the Usd/TL rate was noted at 11.54 TL (17.57 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 13.07 TL levels (19.80 last week), meaning an appreciation of almost 50%.
Turkey exported 1505 mt of dried figs and figs products, being 1690 mt during the same week of last year. The total exports range at 29.786 mt, being 30.478 mt in total in the same period last year.
