During the year, Türkiye almost doubled its reserves of sunflower oil, which allowed it to significantly increase its exports, while imports will gradually begin to decrease in August-December, Oil World experts report.
From September to July 2022/23 MR, the country increased the import of sunflower oil compared to the previous season by 0.4 million tons to a record 1.27 million tons, due to which stocks on August 1 doubled to 500,000 tons. The main volumes of sunflower oil were delivered to Türkiye from Ukraine.
The rate of sunflower oil exports continues to grow, and if in June they were 36 thousand tons, then in July they reached 57 thousand tons, of which 15 thousand tons were shipped to Ethiopia. In total, Türkiye exported 634,000 tons of sunflower oil in FY 2022/23, which is 141,000 tons more than the previous season.
