Odesa – recently prices for animal feed grains are gradually going down.
More and more volumes of new crop barley and feed wheat are arriving from the fields in Ukraine. World prices for corn are also slowly reducing—good forecasts for corn, millet and sorghum crop 2021. Of course, all these factors put pressure on animal feed grains prices.
Nevertheless, the sorghum market in Ukraine is stable and not showing any reaction to the general trend. CPT prices remain at the level 220-230usd/t in June and July. The reason is simple – there is very little good quality left. Importers are not interested in buying low quality while the new crop is so close (harvest will start in September/October). They prefer to substitute their sorghum demand with cheaper commodities now, expecting better prices and better quality in a few months.
