According to preliminary estimates, in 2024 the gross production of grain and oil crops in Ukraine will be about 74 million tons. Of these, about 52.4 million tons of grain and 21.7 million tons of oilseeds

At the beginning of last year, the total gross harvest for 2023 was also predicted to be almost 13% lower compared to the previous period. But the weather conditions contributed to an increase in the harvest. So in 2023, the gross production amounted to about 82 million tons. That is more than 60 million tons of grain, and almost 22 million tons of oilseeds.

Therefore, the forecasts regarding gross harvest indicators are preliminary. They will change during the year depending on the circumstances and weather conditions.

It is predicted that this year farmers will be able to harvest grain in the following volumes:

  • Wheat – 19.2 million tons (22.2 million tons last year),
  • Barley – 4.9 million tons (in 2023 – 5.7 million tons),
  • Corn – 26.7 million tons (it was 30.5 million tons).

Among oilseeds, the ministry predicts an increase in the volume of soybeans. The following production of main oilseeds is expected:

  • Soybeans – 5.2 million tons (n 2023 – 4.7 million tons),
  • Sunflower – 12.4 million tons (12.9 million tons last year),
  • Rapeseeds – 4.1 million tons (4.7 million tons last year).
