About 6.75 million tons of rapeseed can be harvested by Australian farmers in the 2022/23 marketing year. This forecast was made public by experts from the National Oilseeds Federation (AOF).
If experts’ expectations are justified, then the indicators of the gross oilseed harvest on the continent will increase by about 420 thousand tons by the 2021/22 season, when 6.33 million tons of this crop were harvested.
“Conditions for the development of rapeseed in the states of South Australia and Western Australia are very good, which allows us to hope for a record harvest of this crop in both regions,” the AOF said in a statement.
The industry association also talks about expanding the area under rapeseed in the country compared to last year – from 2.97 million hectares to 3.35 million hectares.
