Bolivia Is One Step Away From Opening the Market for Chia in China

The Government completed 90% of the procedures required to begin the export of chia to China, so it plans to consolidate the export protocol in the second half of this year with a sales projection of up to 30 million dollars, reported the ambassador. of Bolivia in the Asian country, Hugo Siles.

As reported by the state agency ABI, Bolivia has complied with health and legal procedures with Chinese institutions, including Customs.

“In January we had more or less reached the conclusion of the procedures, we are at 90% of everything that means the verification procedures that are very important in China, due to the immense amount of population that exists,” Siles explained in an interview with Bolivia TV.

ABI reports that, considered the natural source of omega 3, chia seeds increase the level of good cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol. Prevents the formation of clots and plaques in the arteries, avoiding cardiovascular diseases. It does not contain gluten, making it an excellent alternative for celiacs.

He also adds that the cultivated area in the country reaches 22,635 hectares and the production volume reaches 11,544 tons.
