In the current season, Canada can significantly increase the volume of wheat sales – from 15.1 million tons in the previous MY to 23.5 million tons. This forecast was published by specialists from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. It is noted that such an increase will be achieved by increasing the gross grain harvest by more than 1.5 times: according to the estimates of the National Statistical Service (Statistics Canada), crop production will reach 33.8 million tons.

According to experts, importers’ demand for Canadian wheat this season will be high, given the reduction in the crop in the US and Argentina due to drought.

“Canada may increase wheat exports to China, Indonesia and Japan. Separately, it is worth noting that market operators have some concerns about the reduction in the supply of high-quality wheat from Australia, which will also stimulate demand for the grain of Canadian origin,” they added.
