Seasonal trading activities supported the chickpeas market, and thus the market remained firm in the global market.
In Canada, supplies of marginal and feed quality chickpeas are estimated at a satisfactory level. However, this does not seem to bear any negative influence on markets.
In the United States, in 2020-21, Montana reportedly contributed 45% of the intended chickpeas area, followed by Idaho at 27% and Washington state at 23%.
In Indian markets, the chickpeas trend gained towards the weekend session. However, buying interest in spot markets or mandis started reducing against the early week gains. In the future market, NCDEX June/July chickpeas are most likely to hold above USD 68.09/quintal this month, but the upside may remain restricted to USD 71.46-72.14/ quintal.
