The new project “Twinning” was launched in Ukraine on June 14, 2021. [swpm_protected visible_to=”logged_in_users_only” custom_msg=’This content is for members only. Please login or sign up now.’] It will last 21 months. Its goal is to bring Ukrainian legislation closer to EU norms and improve the State Food Service and phytosanitary laboratories of Ukraine.
The project is being implemented by three EU member states – Latvia, Poland, the Netherlands – and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection with EU funding.
“Twinning” is an instrument of the European Union for institutional cooperation between government institutions of the EU member states and partner countries. Twinning projects are based on the direct exchange of knowledge and experience. Within the framework of the project, EU experts and their Ukrainian colleagues will jointly develop proposals for amending the legislation of Ukraine in the field of GMOs, rights to plant varieties, and seed production.
