DALIAN – This week’s market data shows Shanxi hulled millet ex-factory quotations at USD 1.12/kg. The grain stocks in the sourcing areas are less than 10% compared to the beginning of the crop. The downstream demand is weak, and most of the manufacturers generally stopped selling.
More than 90% of the new crop millet in the producing areas grow and develop well, with a height of around 30 centimetres. However, the planting area has decreased by 20 to 30 per cent compared with last year.
Liaoning Chaoyang golden hulled millet, domestic trade standard quality is offered at ex-factory price USD 1.16-1.18/kg. The export standard quotation is USD 1.27/kg, FOB Dalian.
The summertime is the off-season for millet with typical weak demand. Many manufacturers do not process millet and stopped working for the summer. There is no big demand expected, and exporters don’t expect prices to rise during the next weeks.
