Chinese Organic Lentils: Market Downturn Is Difficult to Improve

Tianjin: Exporters report that, recently, there has been a shortage of raw materials for organic lentils, making it difficult for prices to fall. At the same time, due to the backlog of imported lentils, traders’ inventory pressure has increased. As a result, the price of domestic organic lentils has no upward momentum. Exporters expect prices to remain stable in the later period due to the limited supply of domestic organic lentils. But sales are hard to increase.

Domestic organic lentil sales are challenging. At present, domestic manufacturers mainly sell inventory. Domestic high-quality organic lentils entered the mid-to-high-end market. Organic lentils are priced at $1.630-1.660 per ton on the export side. Foreign importers report that import costs are too high, and they are cautious in purchasing. At present, the sea freight has risen slightly, the difficulty of booking space has increased, and the export situation will be difficult to change in the short term. Exporters are in trouble, and importers continue to pay attention to changes in the Chinese market.
