Chinese Sunflower kernel: The domestic trade market occupies a dominant position

Dalian: Recently, the sunflower seed kernel export market has entered a quiet period, but domestic demand has increased, and domestic trade has stimulated foreign trade. Ukrainian imports of sunflower kernels have also joined the domestic market, impacting prices in the Chinese market. However, the domestic trade market is enormous, the impact is small, the demand is greater than the export, and the price remains high. Major food factories, wholesale markets and retailers have successively purchased large quantities of sunflower seed kernels, leading to a slight increase in the price of sunflower seed kernels. In terms of export, sunflower seed kernels are better than pumpkin seed kernels, and exports are stable.

Orders in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe increased, and orders in the US market decreased compared to last year. Traders predict that sunflower seed prices will not fall before the Spring Festival.

This week, the FOB Dalian or Tianjin price of confectionary-grade sunflower seed kernels is $1.660-1.710/ton, and the FOB Tianjin or Dalian price of bakery-grade sunflower seed kernels is $1.610-1.650/ton. The domestic market occupies a dominant position, and the increase in demand has supported the rise in prices.
