Dried Figs: Calm Markets

As informed before, market players reported that markets are calm and have weak demands. Export price offers are the same as last week as there is not much activity is expected at raw material prices anymore. Exporters are not eager to sell, to make contracts, so they remain calm for the moment.

The raw material prices remained at 55 – 60 TL/kg levels, but there are differences in quality product prices. Some exporters who attended the Gulfood 2022 in Dubai reported good interest and that the number of visitors was better than expected. Even President Erdoğan will tour the exhibition area of ​​Turkey on the National Day of Turkey, which he will open at the World Fair “Expo 2020 Dubai” on February 15.

On the other hand, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) cooperated with BBC World News to increase worldwide awareness of Turkish export products. The second broadcast on the food and agriculture sector met with BBC World News viewers at the beginning of February.

Today the Usd/TL rate was noted at 13.57 TL (13.55 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 15.37 TL levels (15.49 last week).

Turkey exported 1045 mt of dried figs and figs products, being 1348 mt during the same week of last year. The total exports range at 38.440 mt, being 39.409 mt in total in the same period the previous year.
