Market players stated that fig trees in the plains are more affected by the hot temperatures and the drought, so the figs suitable for export will be less. The yield determination studies are continuing as the harvest also.
Market players stated that the total crop size could be more than last year, but fewer figs could be suitable for export. Fig trees in the mountains are less affected, but the less plain figs are available, the higher the prices for the mountain figs will be.
Farmers expect that the TARDIS Fig Association will announce the fig prices soon. The expectations of the farmers are still at least 35 TL/kg. Exporters will give prices for the new crop once the yield determination studies are finalized and published.
