Aydin – The amount and value of dried figs exports increased this season
Fig growers and exporters have had a good season this Season. Market players stated that despite smaller crop size, the export amount and value increased.
Fruitset preparations and maintenance of fig yards are continuing for the time being. Market players mean that fruitset results will be more precise during the first half of July. As there is no raw material available any more on the market, traders who still have products on stocks offer very high prices currently.
Raw material prices are at 32 TL up to 38 TL/kg levels. The export prices remained the same varying again hugely on a supplier basis. Turkey’s export increased by 57% last week, 963 mt, which was 614 mt during the same week of Last Year. The total exports ranged at 60.839 mt of the current crop, being 61.347 mt in the last Season. The difference is only500 mt.
