Turkey’s dried fruit and products exports exceeded 1.5 billion dollars in 2021, with an acceleration of 12 percent.
In his statement, Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association President Birol Celep said that dried figs, dried apricots, and raisins constituted the lion’s share with 1 billion 39 million dollars of 1 billion 574 million dollars of dried fruit exports. Export figures in Turkey, the world’s capital of figs, are encouraging. According to the 4-month export report of the 2021-2022 season of the Aegean Exporters’ Association, 38 thousand tons of dried figs were exported. A foreign exchange inflow of 152 million 79 thousand dollars was obtained from this export. While 39 thousand tons of figs were shipped in the same period last year, it was recorded as 147 million 621 thousand dollars in return.
While dried fig exports decreased by 2 percent on the amount, the increase in foreign exchange income reached 3 percent.
Export price offers are the same as last week as there is not much activity in the raw material prices anymore. The raw material prices remained at 55 – 60 TL/kg levels with differences in quality product prices.
Today the Usd/TL rate was noted at 13.62 TL (13.57 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 15.49 TL levels (15.37 last week).
Turkey exported 1791 mt of dried figs and figs products being 1761 mt during the same week of last year. The total exports range at 40.165 mt, being 41.169 mt in total in the same period the previous year.
