Dried Figs: Price increases continue AYDIN: Fig prices are steadily increasing

Market players stated that the price increases continue and that the farmers still expect higher prices. Exporters are urged to buy to fulfil their contracts to be shipped starting from the 6th of October, 2021. The crop size has still not been published yet.

Due to raw material price increases, market players stated an increase of at least 50 Usd/mt per type. Exporters are unable to predict at what level the rising prices will stop. Uncertainty appears to cause anxiety. Organic figs are offered at 7150 Usd for type nr.1 and 6.050 Usd for type nr. 3.

Turkey exported 1.000 mt of dried figs and figs products last week, 861 mt during the same week of the previous year. The total exports range at 68.917 mt, which was 67.820 mt in total in the same period last year.
