European Union countries from the beginning of the season to the end of January increased the volume of rapeseed imports to almost 4.5 million tons, according to the operational data of the European Commission (EC) experts. During the same period last year it was bought almost 1.5 times less oilseeds – 3.1 million tons.
As follows from EC materials, more than 217 tons of oilseeds were imported in the last week of January (January 23-29).
During the reporting period, Ukraine and Australia were the main suppliers – 2.58 million tons and 1.55 million tons, respectively.
At the same time, the dynamics of rapeseed exports from the EU in 2022/23 MY remained virtually unchanged. Since the beginning of the season, 389 thousand tons of this crop were sold (+1% for the year). Most of it was shipped to the UK – 282 thousand tons, as well as to Pakistan (47 thousand tons) and the USA (40 thousand tons).
