The project “German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of organic agriculture” and the “Future Fund” provided EUR 560,000 in aid to 170 Ukrainian producers of organic products and sector organizations affected by the war.

Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Markiyan Dmytrasevich said this during a meeting of the project’s steering group, the department’s press service reports.

“As part of this campaign, 170 enterprises – organic producers and sector organizations – received financial assistance. The total amount of support was 560,000 euros,” he said.

Expert assistance

Dmytrasevich added that the project “German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of organic agriculture” also provided expert assistance in the process of implementing European legislation in the field of organic production and contributed to the organization of training for market operators.

Portable emergency power batteries

Next year, project participants will provide the Ukrainian side with portable emergency power batteries and continue to support the implementation of organic legislation in Ukraine. In particular, in 2023, practical control measures in the field of organic agriculture will be carried out, support for enterprises and organizations will be continued, and educational projects will be implemented.

As reported, the project “German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of organic agriculture” has been implemented since 2016.

Within the bilateral cooperation program, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany/BMEL provides support to partner countries in the development of efficient and resource-saving agriculture and food industry. Currently, the second phase of the project is underway, which should be completed by the end of August 2023.
