Despite the market holding steady with the raisin price since the beginning of the month, there was a sudden price drop last week. As a result, it became a concern for the traders and farmers.
However, there was a bit of a respite for the raisin producers and traders. While the Golden Raisin AA Quality and Black Raison AA Quality spiralled down, the price of the Malaya Raisin AA quality was northbound. The latter on Wednesday had a price increase to $1,15 per kg FOB from $1,10 per kg FOB.
Golden Raisin AA quality decreased significantly, from $2,45 per kg FOB to $1,65 per KG FOB. Similarly, Black Raisin AA Quality price descended to $1,07 per kg FOB from $1,09 per kg FOB.
The market closed for all these varieties at the price it reached on Wednesday.
Although the festival season is coming up, the price of the raisins has become a concern for the traders and farmers. Traders are, however, optimistic that in the coming days, the demand for raisins will increase as the other festivals start.
