The sesame market this week came abit down with good rains in growing regions, mainly in Gujarat.
Since the last week, more than expected rainfall has been reported in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Farmers are happy with the hope for better crops and worry that if the heavy rainfall continues, it can affect the crop. However, some growers ended the cutting process too.
Currently, sesame prices are quoted at $1,45 per kg for 99/1/1 quality, while Natural white sesame 99.95% is quoted higher at $ 1,55 per kg for Non-EU destinations. Hulled Sesame seeds 99.99% pure for Europe Destinations are being offered at $1,94/ per kg FOB & CIF tentative $2,35
Demand is currently slow for white sesame, and buyers are inactive in the major markets. Export demand is also slow.
