India’s Ginger Market May Increase Further

Spread the news!

Due to continuous rain in Kerala for the past several days, the arrival of major commodities has been reduced to negligible. Due to this, there is a slight increase in commodities prices in the Kochi market of the state. In the coming days, the market may witness more hikes in prices.

The temperature in North India has now risen to touch the level of 40 degrees Celsius. Sales are sluggish due to increasing temperature. Due to this, Ginger prices have remained stable at $2,12 per kg. On the other hand, about three-and-a-half months ago, the arrival of new Ginger had started in Kochi and Kerala mandis. Yet, this Ginger’s arrival has not been regularized in other major Indian markets.

There has been a decrease in the arrival of Ginger in the local wholesale markets. The price of Ginger has recently increased by $0,03/0,04 and currently remains at $0,42/0,46 per kg. Recently it has accelerated so much. For the last few days, the stockists’ buying remained sluggish in domestic markets.

Despite the attractive price of Ginger in the country, farmers are taking comparatively less interest in making margins for the past several years. If arrival does not get normal and demand increases in the coming days, Ginger’s prices might increase.
