The monsoon season, which started in the month of June, has undoubtedly reached its final stage, but due to heavy rains and floods in many states so far, the supply of fresh ginger and dry ginger is expected to be affected. There has been a jump of 0,50$ per kg in it recently. It is expected to remain strong in the coming days as well.
There has been heavy rainfall in many places and floods in some areas in the states like Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, etc. The temperature has started decreasing in the capital Delhi. However, there is still a lack of good rainfall in many areas. The sales of Dry Ginger has improved, movement is visible and demand is also active. It has gained similar momentum.
On the other hand, there has never been enough pressure since the arrival of new dry ginger in Kochi, Kerala. Here, the price of ginger has increased in the local wholesale fruit and vegetable market. Ginger is mainly being supplied in big markets from Bangalore. A new crop of ginger has also started arriving in Bangalore. The new fresh ginger price in Bangalore recently intensified and currently remains at the level of $0,50 per kg and Dry Ginger remains at $2,10 per kg. The price of ginger powder was found to be around $2,20 per kg.
Experts state, that despite the attractive price of ginger in the country, farmers are taking comparatively less interest in producing dry ginger for the past several years therefore the strength is likely to remain strong in the coming days.
