Today South Korea announced the tender for sesame seed. The registration date for the tender is till 25th April 2022, 2 pm Korean time, while the bidding will take place on 26th April 2022, between 10 and 11 am Korean time.
The tender is offered by Korea Agro-Fish & Food Corporation in three parts. All these commodities need to be sent by the winning bidder to Busan Port.
The quantity for which the tender opened is as follows:
P1 – 3,000 Metric tons
P2 – 4,500 Metric tons
P3 – 4,500 Metric tons.
All these three quantities are required to reach Korea by 30th June 2022, 22nd July 2022, and 19th August 2022, respectively.
The new tender announcement is likely to help the price of Indian sesame move up in the coming days.
It now remains to be seen how India performs with the bidding because there are quite a few competitors in the market.
Though last time Myanmar and Pakistan procured few exports in the bidding, India performed well, taking the maximum quantity in the export despite the rebidding taking place for part 1 of the tender.
