DALIAN: Producers in the growing areas reported that there is still about 30 % of the old crop grass-root millet variety in storage in the growing areas in the northeast, Shanxi and Shaanxi. There is also still sufficient commodity with traders, so there will not be any shortages at present.n
The planting of new millet is mainly high-yielding varieties, and the recent rain has been sufficient, and growth is good overall.
In Futian, the national high-temperature area, the demand for millet is shrinking. The large rice mills at home have hardly any production capacity utilisation, so many suppliers are trying to sell the product abroad. The pressure on the price of millet and grain, in general, is high. On the one hand, the old stocks are depressing, and on the other hand, there is hardly any demand from inside and outside the country. Experts assume that prices will continue to fall.
