European Association of Vegetable Oil Producers (FEDIOL) has calculated that in October more than 1.63 million tons of rape from oilseeds was processed at oil extraction plants in the EU – this is the highest figure for this month since 2016.
As for soybeans, companies processed about 716 thousand tons of oilseeds, which is almost 200 thousand tons lower than September figures from FEDIOL and the final estimate for October 2021.
In contrast, the sunflower sector has seen an increase for the third month in a row, with 415,000 tonnes of sunflower for further processing – 96,000 tonnes more than in the previous reporting month, but 167,000 tonnes less than in October 2021.
