The Czech Statistical Office published its estimation of the Czech new crop poppy seed total quantity.
Harvest Estimates – September 2021
As per the numbers, the average yield was 0,67 Mt / Ha in 2021. hence the total quantity is estimated at 29.000 Mt, the same as in the last year. Although the forecasts at the end of the Summer were about 40.000 Mt entire new crop, more sober reviews were found in the news, which pointed out the possible weather caused damages and the probable humble total unknown crop quantity.
Now regarding the final number, the market did not move significantly in one of the directions. According to realistic market players, the prices will remain around 2,00 EUR/Kg in the season and 2019. year price level (2,90 EUR/Kg) is not in near sight.
