The milling wheat upward price dynamics resumed last week in Ukraine after a temporary silence due to the New Year holidays.
The reason for prices change became the growing competition for grain between processors and traders. At the same time we have insufficient supply of wheat from farmers (especially 2nd grade) that also supported prices.
Thus, most processors increased the purchase prices for milling wheat by an average of 100-200 UAH/t, and in rare cases (mainly in the western region) by 300-400 UAH/t. Traders are ready to pay 200-215USD/t in ports and 180-190USD/t at Central Ukraine elevators.
It should be noted that flour millers are ready to increase their prices for grade 2 wheat. However, its offers almost did not enter the market. Farmers prefer to keep high protein wheat and prefer to sell feed wheat at the moment.
