Bayannur – This week, market participants reported that the shiny skin market is still stable, and no major changes until the new crop.
Exporters have received some news about the sowing of the new crop, which is completed in all areas and reduced by 20-30% in mid-April. Still, farmers planted more in May, so the total area was reduced by only 10% in the Northwest, 20% in Inner Mongolia, 30% in the Northeast and 30% in Gansu.
Shine Skin’s main growing area is still in the Northwest and Inner Mongolia, so the area planted to the new crop has not been reduced as much as expected. Therefore, if weather conditions are good during the growing season, the total harvest should be good enough for the 2021 crop.
Exporters forecast that the open price for the new crop will be 2.27 – 2.42 USD/KG, and the FOB price for Shine Skin AA will be 3,250 – 3,350 USD/tonne.
