According to AgRural monitoring data, as of March 4, soybean harvesting in Brazil was carried out on 43% of the planned area (+ 10% for the week), which is significantly lower than the level of the previous year (55%).
Experts note that the rains slow down fieldwork in the states of Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. In addition, despite the lower rainfall in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, the soil moisture level in these regions remains high, which prevents the intensification of oilseed harvesting.
Agrarians in the state of Rio Grande do Sul have not yet begun harvesting soybeans, although by this time fieldwork in the region had already begun last year.
Nevertheless, the production potential of oilseeds in the region remains high and, according to Emater/RS forecasts, its harvest this year may reach 20.5 million tons
