By the end of August 2022, more than 1.8 million tons of oilseeds were stored in domestic agricultural organisations. By the same period in 2021, this figure increased by 63% and by 2020 by 57%. In their monitoring, such data were published by analysts of the Federal Statistical Service (Rosstat).
Analysts expect prices to fall at the end of the season, as there are currently no problems with processing the goods, and more and more goods need to be stored.
Industry experts forecast an absolute record in grain and oilseed harvests – all estimates are at 25-28 million tons (23 million tons in 2021), some even higher. Many analysts point out that the record harvest in 2022 will be due to an increase in the gross crop of soybeans and rapeseed, as well as favourable weather in most growing regions.
As of September 8, Russian farmers have harvested over 3.5 million tons of critical oilseeds (sunflower, soybeans, canola).
