Experts predict an absolute record for grain and oilseed harvest this year – all estimates are 25 million tons (23 million tons in 2021), some even higher. Many analysts point out that the record 2022 crop will be due to an increase in gross soybean and canola harvests and favourable weather in most growing regions.

The Ministry of Agriculture forecasts that Russia will harvest 130 million tons of grain this year (up from 120.7 million tons last year), and the oilseed crop will total 22.6 million tons. Experts give even more optimistic estimates. Experts predict that if weather conditions are good, the oilseed harvest could reach about 25 million tons, and if the weather makes its own adjustments, the gross yield will be 22 to 23 million tons.

The sunflower crop is expected to reach 15.5 to 16 million tons in Russia in 2022, putting Russia at the top in the gross harvest. According to the expert, soybean production will also be high – about 4.6 million tons. The experts said that good results are also expected for rapeseed, and in the sum of the main oilseeds, more than 23 to 24 million tons will be harvested.
