Sesame Is Likely to Increase Further

Despite the worsening of the Corona situation in China, the demand for sesame suddenly surged due to the government’s complete opening of all markets and traffic with foreign countries. Thus, the price increased from $100 to 125 per tonne.

Demand is increasing for sesame

The demand for white sesame is continuously increasing in India due to winter. In the last 10 days, as the shortage persisted in the market, the price of white sesame has seen a minor rise. Due to heavy rains in the last phase of the Kharif season in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan in white sesame, most of the crop was destroyed within two to two a half months of the onset of the season. The possession of the stockists is visible on the little crop that was left, and thus, the supply of white sesame in India has decreased on a large scale.

After the upcoming tender of Korea, it is sure that there will be a shortage of sesame at the global level. Currently, the pipeline of all varieties of white, black, and golden sesame seeds is empty in the country because of the destructive climate in the past.

Future Scenario

Due to the increase in demand for sesame by China, a situation like shortage is also visible in African sesame. Korea’s upcoming tender will open after 2 weeks, and it will be the guiding light to decipher the deficiency of sesame at the global level.

The variety of white sesame, golden, and brown sesame showed a rise in the last 2 months, but the price of black sesame appeared rangebound. Black Sesame’s pipeline is empty, and whatever stock is in solid hands. Thus, market analysts are of the opinion that in the coming days, due to the shortage, the sesame will see a bull rally.
