Indian white sesame crop status

There is a forecast for heavy rain in the next 10 to 12 days, then all the three states might have huge damage to the sesame crop. If there will not be any damage due to rain the production is estimated to be 3 to 3.5 million tonnes, which last year was only 1.70 to 1.75 million tonnes. At present Indian Sortex White Sesame in the Global Market is being quoted at $1750 and Natural 99-1-1 is at $1670 per ton.
Damage to Pakistan’s sesame due to rain
The position of Pakistan’s sesame crop in the global sesame market has become very important. There are two crops of sesame in Pakistan, out of which one crop comes in August and the other crop comes in October. The August crop was said to be very good and the production was expected to be around 2 million tonnes a month ago, but for the last 10 days in Pakistan, it has been raining heavily in all the areas of sesame fields. According to traders at present, there is 25 to 30% damage to the sesame crop due to heavy rains and the yield of sesame will decrease by 50%. The quality of the crop will be very weak due to excessive rain damage in the sesame crop. A month ago, Pakistan’s exporters were ready to sell white sesame in forward contracts for $ 1470 per tonne, assuming that Pakistan’s crop would come more, but now due to damage to the crop, they are not ready to sell even for $1650 per tonne.
Nigeria’s Sesame Crop Status
New crop of white sesame will come in Nigeria in October-November. Sowing in Nigeria has increased by 5 to 10% and the crop is expected to reach 3.50 million tonnes compared to 3.25 million tonnes last year. Due to favourable weather conditions in Nigeria at present, the crop condition is expected to be good. Nigerian Sesame Prices per ton are expected to open around $1500 to $1550 per tonne.
Sesame crop status in Sudan
Sudan’s new crop of sesame will arrive in November-December. In Sudan also, due to favourable weather, the sesame crop is estimated to be around 4.50 million, which was 4.25 million last year. No one is talking about the new crop of Sudan at the moment, but the deal for the old crop is currently traded with Egypt for $1750 per tonne of Gaddarf quality and S1670 per tonne of Non Gaddarf. There is no rental cost as Sudan and Egypt are neighbours.
Burkina Faso, Togo and Mali Crop Status
The white sesame crop of Burkina Faso, Togo and Mali will come in November-December, which is expected to reach 1.80 million tonnes.
Tanzania and Mozambique’s crop is Over

Brazilian Sesame Crop Status

China’s annual requirement of sesame is 12 million tonnes and at present there is a stock of 2.20 million tonnes of sesame at the port of China, which is equal to the requirement of 2 months. The increased demand for sesame in China usually arise from September to December as the Mid-Autumn festival in September and the Lunar New Year purchase for January also appears in these 4 months. With this, China’s demand will be seen in the world market from September.
Global Market Status of Black Sesame Price
In India per kg the price of Zed Black Variety is about $1,88 at present. The local demand for black sesame has decreased, similarly China is the largest buyer of black sesame in the international market and the largest producer is Myanmar (Burma) where three crops of black sesame arrive in a year. At present, the arrival of the second crop will start in September. Myanmar’s second crop of black sesame is estimated to be around 1.5 million tonnes. The China and Myanmar border is currently open after being closed for a long time due to Corona, due to which black sesame is going to China on a large scale from Myanmar. At present, due to the forecast of heavy rains on the black sesame crop in Myanmar, the next 10 days will be decisive for the condition of the black sesame crop.
Future of White and Black Sesame
There is a risk of heavy rain in both India and Pakistan, the next 10 to 15 days are decisive for the white crop status of both countries. Similar is the situation of black sesame seeds.
