Unicaps Sunflower seeds

The average price for a ton of sunflower in August in the Central Federal District increased from 29 thousand rubles (the average price for July) to 29.2 thousand rubles with VAT.

In the Southern Federal District of Russia, prices for sunflower seeds also increased – from 28.4 thousand rubles per ton with VAT (the average price in July) to 28.8 thousand rubles with VAT.

In the Volga Federal District of Russia, on the other hand, oilseed prices are falling for the fourth month in a row – from 30.4 thousand rubles per ton with VAT (in July) to 29.5 thousand rubles per ton.

In the North Caucasus Federal District, the average price of sunflowers in August was 29.8 thousand rubles per ton with VAT, compared to 30.3 thousand rubles per ton with VAT in July.

Analysts from the Institute of Agricultural Market Studies (ICAR) warn that the factors of the expected record harvest in the Russian Federation and the hypothetical sharp decline in world oil prices could seriously affect the cost of raw materials.

“So far, the market is cautiously looking ahead to the next season,” the experts said

According to market observers, the average price range for the sale of sunflower oil in the Central Federal District, the Southern Federal District and the Volga Federal District during the reporting period is 78.8-79.3 rubles with VAT per location. However, market participants report that occasionally deals are made at higher costs.

The demand for domestic production on foreign markets will determine oil prices in September.

“Everything will also depend on what happens to palm oil prices, how much China’s decision to reduce purchases of sunflower oil will affect the market, and how actively Turkey and the EU will import oil from Ukraine, considering the good discount they receive there,” market analysts say.

As for sunflower meal prices, they were around 13 thousand rubles per ton in August, but the main auctions for shipment at the end of August/September were held earlier by the leading suppliers and ended with prices of 11-12 thousand rubles per ton with VAT in the Central Federal District and Volga Federal District.
