BAYANNAOER – According to the feedback from Inner Mongolian exporters, the number of export orders this week is very small. The factories mainly began to repair and overhaul their equipment which is usually done during the summertime.
The Chinese importers report that the domestic sunflower kernels market shows a steady demand, mainly for imported goods from Eastern Europe. But the downstream demand is weak, and there is no supplementary raw material demand. The price of imported Ukrainian bakery sunflower kernels this week was USD 1.290 /ton.
Due to the exporters’ urgent sales and poor export, the domestic bakery grade sunflower kernels price dropped from last week’s USD 1.510 /ton to this week’s USD 1.450 /ton. Market participants predict that the price of bakery sunflower kernels will not fall much in the short term.
Domestic confectionary-grade sunflowers kernels also fell, from last week’s USD 1.480 /ton to USD 1.430 /ton this week. However, it is still difficult for importers to accept the current CIF price because the ocean freight has risen to USD 9.000 per 20ft container. Exporters predict that the summer export market will not improve.
