For the first time since the start of the new season, processors in Ukraine paid a better price for sunflower than on the Bulgarian market on a parity basis.
Sunflower traded in Ukraine in the range of $290-310/t CPT factory. This was parity at $400-420/t DAP Bulgaria, considering logistics expenses. At the same time, the Bulgarian market bought sunflowers at the level of $380-390/t DAP for December-January delivery. The Bulgarian government prolonged the Ukrainian sunflower import ban but buyers from Bulgaria do not release Ukrainian suppliers from contracts. They extend the delivery period due to a significant need for processing.
The latest indications of buyers are:
DAP or CFR Bulgaria | 370-390 USD/t |
DAP OR CFR Romania | 370-390 USD/t |
CFR Türkiye | 430-440 USD/t |
Considering this, Ukrainian farmers would definitely prefer to sell the goods inside the country to local processors.
