Nearly one-fourth of Iranian dates were exported to India in 2022. Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and China were among the significant customers of Iranian dates last year.
According to the Iran customs statistics, 335,249 tons of Iranian dates worth 285,976,808 USD were exported in 2022. The average price of each kilogram of dates exported by Iran was 0.85 USD in 2022. India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and China were other important destinations for Iran’s date exports in 2022.
The largest export of Iranian dates in 2022 was to India. 77,667 tons of dates have been sent to India. 23.2 percent by weight of the total dates were exported to this country in 2022. The Dollar value of dates exported to this country was 69,921,303 USD last year (24.4 percent of the total Dollar value of Iran’s date exports). The average price of each kilogram of dates exported from Iran to India is 0.90 USD, which indicates that most of the dates exported to this country are of high quality.
After India, Pakistan was the second customer of Iran’s date exports last year by importing 65,316 tons worth 52,813,142 USD (0.81 USD per kilogram). 19.5 percent by weight and 18.5 percent by Dollar value of Iran’s total date exports were allocated to this country. Kazakhstan was the third most important destination of Iran’s date exports last year by importing 31,656 tons worth 21,757,777 USD (0.96 USD per kilogram). 9.4 percent by weight and 7.6 percent by Dollar value of Iran’s date exports to Kazakhstan are related to Kazakhstan.

Prices increased
Compared to last month, the price of Iranian dates for export has increased by 2.5 to 5.5 percent in the world markets. The cost of Iran’s export dates in the world markets has increased while the exchange rate of foreign currencies has risen by 10 to 12 percent against the Rial. However, the increase in the price of this product in the domestic market of Iran has compensated for the decrease in price caused by the rise in the price of foreign currencies and has also grown slightly. The most important reason for the increase in the price of this product in the domestic market of Iran and the global markets is due to the rise in domestic and export demand due to the approaching Ramadan.
