ODESA: The Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine  Mykola Solskyi cannot say whether the “grain agreement” will be extended through the mediation of the UN and Turkey. He stated this at the Future of Food and Farming Summit in Paris.

Speaking about the “grain agreement” which expires in November, Minister Solsky explained that it is currently difficult to plan its extension. Solskyi added that Ukraine is working with the UN and Turkey to extend the agreement, which is vital for the Ukrainian economy and for countries with food shortages, particularly in Africa.

The Minister noted that the extension of the agreement will be a very worrying issue for Ukraine until the moment of its signing. The Ukrainian government will have an understanding of whether this will happen or not, closer to the conclusion of the agreement.

It should be mentioned that during two months of operation of the grain corridor, 238 vessels with 5.46 million tons of agricultural products left Ukrainian ports.
