Temperatures have not yet peaked in China. Last year, temperatures were on average 3 degrees higher at this time. This circumstance has a significant impact on the consumption of mung beans by the Chinese population. Traditionally, Chinese people like to drink cold mung bean soup in hot weather to quench their thirst and feel better. If the temperatures rise, the demand for mung beans will also increase dramatically.
Knowing this, farmers are currently reluctant to sell and hope for higher prices. At the moment, however, prices are stable.
