Transportation by Panamax From the Ports of Odesa Is Becoming More Expensive

Freight rates for the transportation of grain by “coasters” from the Danube ports and “panamax” from the deep-sea ports strengthened this week

As of March 21, the freight for the transportation of corn by “Panamax” from deep-sea ports to China increased by $2/t per week to $62-64/t.

The rates for the transportation of 6,000 tons of corn by “coaster” from the ports of Reni and Izmail in the direction of Marmara and Spain increased by $1/t — to $27-28/t and $45-46/t. Freight to the east coast of Italy increased by $2/t per week — to $40-42/t. While delivery to the Eastern Mediterranean remained unchanged at the level of $35-37/t.

Freight rates for the transportation of corn by “handy” from deep-sea ports in key directions remained unchanged. Delivery to the Mediterranean coast:

  • Egypt – $30-32/t
  • Italy – $32-33/t
  • Spain – $34-35/t
  • Tunisia — $36-38/t.

The freight for transporting corn by barge to Constanta decreased by €1-2 per week — to €11/t.
