Turkish Grain Board ( TMO ) purchased 24 thousand tons of sunflower oil from the operator AVES. according to the report of Agricensus, citing information from sources in the market. Thus, AVES sold 6 thousand tons of unrefined sunflower oil at $ 1218.8 per ton of CFR with delivery to the port of Tekirdag. The indicated cost of the product is 7% higher than the December level.
The remaining 18,000 tons of oil were contracted at $1,228.8 per ton for delivery to the ports of Iskenderun and Mersin.
“Four companies took part in the tender. At the same time, the offer from AVES was the most competitive,” Agricensus noted.
According to Turkish sources in the market, since the beginning of the year, the country has already purchased almost 150 thousand tons of sunflower oil – the delivery of products is scheduled for the first quarter of this year.
Experts suggest that the dynamics of import growth is associated with the zeroing of import duties on sunflower seeds and sunflower oil, which came into force on January 1, 2023.
