According to Turkish Statistical Institue – TÜİK, grain production of Türkiye in 2023 increased by 9.1% year-on-year to about 42.2 million tons.
Compared to the previous year:
- wheat production increased by 11.4 percent to 22 million tons,
- barley production by 8.2 percent to 9.2 million tons,
- rye production by 11.7 percent to 305 thousand tons,
- oat production by 12.3 percent to 410 thousand tons.
Among oilseeds:
- soybean production decreased by 11.3 percent to 137.5 thousand tons,
- sunflower production decreased by 13.8 percent to about 2.2 million tons.
In addition, the production amount of vegetable crops increased by 0.6 percent year-on-year to about 31.8 million tons in 2023, and the production amount of fruits, beverage and spice crops increased by 2.3 percent year-on-year to about 27.4 million tons in 2023.
